MEGUMI OGITA GALLERY is pleased to present a special exhibition of "The Shunichiro Ueda Collections".
Shunichiro Ueda, he is an art collector who made his various collections of not only contemporary art but works of old famous artists who created Japanese “Manga” culture. One of them in this exhibition is Osamu Tezuka, he created manga and anime series “Astro Boy” and “Kimba the White Lion”etc. Also Ryohei Yanagihara, he designed a main character “Uncle Torys” for Japanese typical whiskey brand.
Ueda bought a print work when he was an university student, that was how he started collecting.
In this exhibition, we will show over 30 works of original pictures, prints and ceramic wares which were made by 7 Japanese famous illustorators. Ueda has been collecting them for 35 years since he bought a print at first time.
