Born in 1983, Satoru Koizumi completed his sculpture specialization at Okinawa Prefectural University Graduate School in 2009 and is now based in Okinawa.
In recent years, he has sold out at famous art fairs such as Art Taipei and has expanded his activities around the world, and is one of the young sculptors who are expected to be more active in the future.

Koizumi has presented a figure that covers the skin of an animal like a costume by combining both with the motif of animals and humans.
The expression, which contains the cuteness of a pure innocent boy, also has a lonely and anxious expression.
In a highly civilized society, it sways between the wild instincts of human beings as animals, and overlaps with our appearance of trying to live in the present while hesitating. In addition, it is possible to get a glimpse of the modern people who swallow the current culture where "cuteness", which is also the inside out of immaturity and powerlessness, is evaluated, and dare to take "cuteness" in the wrong direction and wear it as a weapon. I can do it.
Koizumi paradoxically expresses the weight of the connection between nature, animals, human beings and society by expressing the modern situation that contains anxiety and loneliness through his works.

At this exhibition, we plan to present a total of three latest works, including a full-body image that we have been working on since 2013.
The latest work of the full-body image is based on the motif of Garuda, a sacred bird that appears in Indian mythology.
The concept of reincarnation, which constantly repeats life and death, is considered painful in Buddhism. Koizumi's strong and calm feelings toward the act of lonely production are included in it.

While modern society has benefited from the development of civilization, it has made it difficult to maintain humanity as a negative effect.
Koizumi is also one of the people who lives in the present age, which includes loneliness and desires a connection.
However, as the network of superficial connections has increased dramatically, the work created by facing loneliness head-on and placed in an environment surrounded by the rich nature of Okinawa is somewhat prehistoric in simplicity and vitality. It has the power to convey to our hearts who want to connect with people while being lonely.
