Born in 1983, Satoru Koizumi graduated from the sculpture department of Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts and is producing sculptures using camphor tree. In this first solo exhibition, we will exhibit under the theme of "relationship" between people and nature.
Since ancient times, humans have had a close physical connection by sharing the environment with other animals and nature and enjoying their lives. The feeling of being different species of creatures but sharing parts of each other somewhere has been imprinted in our instincts over time.
From the faces of modern humans who are anxiously lurking in the rough-cut animals that appear in Koizumi's work, we can recognize animals called "humans" that are far from the natural world. Koizumi carves the animal-like physical sensations that are lost due to the sophistication of various civilizations and our desire to exist as a part of nature, and the shape of the relations of the contradictory era. Will be done.
Please look forward to Satoru Koizumi's "Relation".
