Ryan Su (b.1979) was born in Taipei, Taiwan. He studied in Taiwan University of Art and has Master’s degree of Fine art of Tunghai University.

As a modern Asian artists, Ryan Su gives the items to symbolic foundation based on the development of Eastern philosophy which is suggestive of animism.
He only uses black and white color for the works like Chinese traditional painting, represents the original essence and purity of life. It tells us that hope or light is not in outside but in the inside of our own in the darkness.

For the artist, every animal stands for the metaphor of our life essence like wisdom, power, fortune etc. with his homage to the world history of culture.
In this show “Times of night”, we’ll show his latest about 15 paintings.
