MEGUMI OGITA GALLERY B1 2-16-12 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo

Megumi Ogita Gallery is proud to present Masaru Bando art exhibition: "The diary of a sculptor"

Masaru Bando (b.1952- Obihiro, Japan) is well known for his bronze sculptures. After studying at Tokyo Zokei University (1972-1974), he moved to Italy and attended the Rome Accademia Emilio Greco class. Today, his work is based in Japan, Italy and the USA.

To pursue the essence of sculpting, Masaru Bando spent decades watching sunrises to see Mother Nature bring her light. He then captured these moments on his canvas every morning. With time, he was able to create three-dimensional works. Bando believes sculptures are not just a form but also a form’s movement and its beauty that should be searched and captured in nature.

His style of creating a deeper meaning in his sculptures are a never before seen homage to art, leaving viewers inspired.
This exhibition will present approximately 20 of his works, which include his remarkable 194cm x130cm of oil paintings and drawings.

The art created by sculptors are just like personal diaries. For Bando, his drawings were to challenge himself to understand objects and space. Throughout his career, his skill of depiction and detail has progressed.
Masaru Bando’s personal diary will give you a fresh surprise and spectacular experience.

We hope you enjoy an artist, a sculptor, Masaru Bando’s "The diary of a sculptor".
