MEGUMI OGITA GALLERY is pleased to present a special solo exhibition of Hiroko Nemoto “water mirror“.
Hiroko Nemoto(b.1981) graduated from a master’s program in Tokyo University of the Arts.
She paints the world which is not next to real one by using a technic of whiting with detailed brushwork. Her works shake up our reality or concept between the time and the space to its foundation.
In her solo exhibition in 2015, Hiroko showed one of scenes of a dramatic story through her works by making original story and then recognizing her own world including her surface or inside. But at present, she tries to paint images which is completed in her brain. She fills the gap/distance of the image(future) and herself(present) by painting.
The title of this exhibition “water mirror” comes from the images in her brain which is the beginning of her works.
She keeps painting to make uncertain things which is easily to disappear even if you can see them clear into certain one.
We will show new 4 oil paintings and also 5 water-color paintings in this exhibition.
